On March 26, deputies said they received a report that a victim met with Powell in the Enfield area to sell some electronics after communicating with him on a social media platform.

After Powell left with the items, they said the victim realized he was given counterfeit U.S. currency during the transaction.

Powell is from Murfreesboro in Hertford County, N.C., according to the sheriff’s office.

However, deputies said he is likely in the Roanoke Rapids area and could be in other areas as well.

According to investigators, Powell drives a gray in color Mitsubishi Outlander SUV.

Anyone who knows of Powell’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, or submit a tip through Halifax County Crime Stoppers.
